OtoBiology Leiden secured a LUMC grant for a PhD project. This falls within the theme Regenerative Medicine of Tissues and Organs (RegMed TO), where research is funded to investigate alternative treatments to replace or repair defective organs and tissues. This includes the understanding of molecular and cellular mechanisms contributing to pathology but also the development of gene or cell therapies and the testing of drugs. The project within our research group will focus on the otic sensory neurons and how we can use these in a high-throughput screening.
