Our PhD researcher Amy participates in the reNEW ARTxSCIENCE competition. Her image portrays a 100x magnification of an inner ear organoid, revealing a hair cell pointing towards the lumen. The delicate, hard-to-visualize ‘hairs’ are crucial in hearing and play a key role in related diseases. This stem cell model aims to understand, treat and cure hearing loss by studying how different pathologies impact the human inner ear. We hope to bring back music to everyone’s ears!
